Lori Woods is once again Mayor of Signal Hill, following the scheduled rotation of the Signal Hill City Council on Tuesday.

Unlike other cities where the position of mayor is decided through a vote, in Signal Hill the members of the city council take turns being the mayor for one year at a time.

Woods was last mayor in 2017, according to the City’s website. She’ll be replacing outgoing mayor Tina Hansen, who will continue serving as a council member.

Councilmember Keir Jones proposed all council members take turns being mayor for a few months at a time throughout 2024, as part of the commemoration of the City’s centennial anniversary.

Ultimately, council members voted for Woods alone to succeed to the office of mayor.
Signal Hill City Council meetings are held biweekly on Tuesdays at 7 p.m, and can be watched online live or as a recording on Granicus.
