An unidentified man has succumbed to injuries sustained after being shot.
On Monday, Sept. 7 around 9:51pm, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers responded to a shooting in the 400 block of W. 5th St. When officers arrived, they discovered a victim who had been struck by gunfire in the upper body.
Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim, in critical condition, to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will make positive identification and notify next of kin.
A motive for the shooting is unknown. No suspect information is available at this time.
