Man stabbed in North Long Beach

A man was stabbed in Long Beach Saturday and an investigation is underway.

The stabbing was reported about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 6700 block of Paramount Boulevard, just north of the Artesia (91) Freeway, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Arriving officers found the victim suffering from stab wounds to his upper body that were not believed life-threatening, police said.

The preliminary information indicates he was in the 2500 block of 67th Street, west of Paramount Boulevard, when he was approached by an unknown man and suddenly stabbed, police said. The suspect fled the scene.

Paramedics took the man to a hospital.

A motive for the stabbing was unknown.
