Greenly Art Space in Signal Hill will host its inaugural art opening on Saturday, August 7, from 5pm to 10pm. The photography exhibit titled Abductions: 1993 features 365 candid photographs of Volvos and their owners, captured in 1993. The show is the creation of Kimberly and David Hocking, artists and owners of Greenly Art Space.
The photos provide a glimpse into a slice of time and personality on California streets and highways, when station wagons outnumbered sport utility vehicles, and gasoline could be purchased for a mere $1.19 per gallon. The exhibit will be the first public presentation of these photos, which have been in storage since being taken 17 years ago.
The exhibit will continue through the end of October, and can be viewed by appointment, or at GreenlyArtSpace.com after the opening.
