Not a 'ruff' day

Officials from Signal Hill and Long Beach were on hand when the City of Long Beach Animal Care Services Bureau (ACS) hosted an open house and ribbon-cutting for its new dog play yard on Saturday, Feb. 17, at the animal shelter located at 7700 E. Spring St. During the official opening of the play yard, attendees got to see the new dog play group program in action. The program is geared toward providing enrichment for dogs under the care of ACS to keep them from becoming overly stressed and to help make them more adoptable. Although the public was able to view the new area, officials said it is still in its early stages and not yet open for public viewing. More information is available at longbeach.gov/acs or (562) 570-PETS (7387). To learn more about how to volunteer for ACS, visit longbeach.gov/acs/donate-and-volunteer/volunteer.
