O’Donnell bill to increase funding for K-12 vocational/career technical education passes Assembly Floor

Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D–Long Beach) moved his bill to secure ongoing and increased funding for K-12 vocational/career technical education (CTE) programs over to the State Senate Wednesday.
With bi-partisan support, Assembly Bill 1743 would ensure ongoing funding of $500 million for CTE programs in K-12 schools.
“I am grateful for the overwhelming support we have received for this effort, and I am confident that AB 1743 is the best next step forward for our students and the California economy,” O’Donnell said. “As a classroom teacher, I have seen firsthand how vocational programs engage students and guide them to success. Career technical education prepares our students for lasting careers and strengthens our California workforce.”
The bill now moves to the State Senate.
