Online art show to benefit For The Child treatment program

online-art-show.jpgArtist Benson Simmonds, known for his award-winning acting, filmmaking, and painting, is donating 30 percent of all art sales to For The Child’s treatment programs for abused and neglected children through May 31. The works from his show “The World of Infinite Possibilities” can be viewed online at www.forthechild.org.
Benson first began painting and selling his artwork on the streets of New York 15 years ago. Completely self-taught, like other actor/painters he continued to develop his painting while working as a successful actor in film and TV (Stargate SG1, Supernatural and others). He’s been selling his work to serious collectors across the U.S. and Canada for the last ten years. Benson had two completely sold-out shows at Studio West Tenth in Vancouver, Canada, selling nationwide and quickly becoming one of the most sought-after emerging artists in the city. His work has also been exhibited at the Aion Gallery, Romanoff Gallery and Momentum (currently the Winsor Gallery). At his last group show, his piece, “A New World of Certainty Emerging” was chosen for the coveted front window, at the Art Center Gallery in Vancouver, BC.
Benson is pleased to be joining For the Child in the fight to prevent abuse and help child victims recover. He is dedicated to inspiring others through his art to “take risks, and step beyond your comfort zone into the world of unlimited possibilities.”
For The Child is a 34-year-old Long Beach-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to prevent child abuse and provide counseling to help young abuse victims and their families recover from the trauma. For additional information visit www.forthechild.org.
