Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offering summer classes for those 50 and older

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at CSULB (OLLI), which offers widely varied courses of interest to persons 50 years of age or older, will conduct a summer registration and general meeting on Saturday, June 26 at 9am in the CSULB Human Services and Design building (HS&D Building), Room 101, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and E. University Drive.
OLLI is offering a host of lecture classes this summer, including these new topics: Ireland— Seven Centuries; Basic Bonsai Gardening; and Hollywood Bowl Classic Nights. Returning this session will be: Memory Writing; Play the Recorder; Watercolor Workshop; Conversational French; and more. For those looking to improve their health and endurance, OLLI offers Tai Chi Chih and Longevity Stick. A new computer class offered this session will be It’s Your Mac Part II. OLLI computer classes are conducted in a 10-seat PC- and Mac-equipped lab by skilled instructors. These and many other classes will be offered from July 12 through September 4.
OLLI currently offers three locations for classes: the HS&D Building on the CSULB campus; OLLI Downtown at 737 Pine Ave., Suite 202; and OLLI Leisure World, 13533 Seal Beach Blvd., in Seal Beach.
OLLI’s annual membership fee of $40 covers the winter, spring and summer sessions and is pro-rated for the spring and summer sessions at $20. Tuition is $10 per lecture class and $45 per computer class. Parking permits are available for a fee.
