Now in its 10th year, Roxanne’s Cumbia y Tequila Festival continues to bring Latin American rhythms and agave-based spirits to the California Heights neighborhood of Long Beach.
This Sunday, the local bar and restaurant will host this cultural celebration of tastings and tunes, with more than 60 unique tequila selections offered behind the bar. Non-alcoholic drink options will also be available, with notable agave flavors but 0% alcohol.
“We are thrilled to celebrate our 10th year of the Cumbia y Tequila Festival,” said Jim Torres, General Manager of Roxanne’s in a recent statement from the establishment. “This event has always been about bringing people from all walks of life together to enjoy great music, fantastic tequila, and the vibrant culture of our community. We can’t wait to share this special milestone with everyone.”
While exploring the range of tequila at this festive afternoon party, attendees can enjoy performances from Los Angeles-based cumbia band Combo Leche and cumbia/punk group Cara Borracho from South Bay. Plus, expect some turntable action from Charly X LB and DJs from Steady Beat Records San Pedro and La Cita Bar.
The festival will also feature a marketplace with local vendors, photo ops, plus giveaways and a raffle drawing.
This year’s festival has three ticket options:
- $30 – The cheapest ticket available for the festival gets you in the door and comes with ten tequila tastings.
- $50 – The median ticket option grants attendees unlimited tequila tastings. (Guests can save ten dollars on an all-you-can-taste tequila ticket by purchasing it in person.)
- $100 – The all-inclusive VIP ticket includes perks such as all-you-can-eat asada, chicken and soyrizo tacos in a private room. There, attendees can also enjoy a comedy show, plus enjoy all-you-can-drink tequila.
Roxanne’s 10th Annual Cumbia 7 Tequila Festival will take place Sunday, June 23 from noon to 8 p.m. at 1115 E. Wardlow Road. Tickets, ranging from $35 to $100, can be purchased on Eventbrite. For more information about the festival, visit @cumbiaytequila on Instagram.
