A pedestrian was killed Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run in Long Beach, and an investigation was underway.
Officers were sent to Pacific Coast Highway and Harbor Avenue at about 9:15 a.m., the Long Beach Police Department reported.
“Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim who had seemingly been involved in a traffic collision suffering from life-threatening inquires,” police said in a statement.
“Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and determined the victim deceased at the scene,” police said. “No vehicle remained on scene.”
Information on the man’s identity was not immediately released. Traffic was routed away from the area while an investigation was conducted.
