One of the few respites from the sweltering heat lately is the cool breeze, rushing waves and soft sand right in our backyard: It’s beach day.

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re less than 20 minutes from one of the best places to be this summer. Dragon boat racers use the waters for practice, families flock to the inflatable playground Wibit, community groups take their time to clean our shores and dog owners watch their pups play in the water.

However you choose to spend your time at the beach, try snapping some pictures during your next trip. Maybe you want to share a beautiful sea shell you found buried in the sand, or a seagull stealing someone’s food or a simply striking sunset reflecting on the ocean. We want to see them all, and publish them too.

If you find yourself at the beach any time between now and Aug. 3, take some pictures and send your favorites to Newspaper@SignalTribune.com or to our Instagram @SignalTribune.
