Plus-size fashion show to benefit community charities

The Greater LA Woman, a Long Beach-based boutique that specializes in fine apparel and lingerie in women’s plus sizes, will be hosting “A Decade of Fashion Delights” charity fashion show and luncheon in celebration of its ten years in business on Sunday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds will benefit two Long Beach community non-profits: Meals on Wheels- Long Beach and Hearts for Hounds.
The event featuring a variety of entertainment and fundraising activities will be held at The Grand Event Center located at 4101 East Willow in Long Beach, CA, 90815.
Entertainment will include songs performed by national Broadway touring artist Lyndsey Kyle, as well as a dramatic fashion show of high-end apparel and lingerie on plus-size models. Also presented will be a live auction, silent auction and raffles to raise funds for the participating charities.
“We’re really excited to be celebrating ten years of serving the plus-sized woman with clothes that help them enhance their natural beauty and style, while offering a flattering fit and all-day comfort,” said Rachel Perlmutter, owner of the boutique. “The fact that we can use this celebration to support volunteer groups that are so important to the Long Beach community, which we are a part of and love, makes this event even more meaningful.”
Tickets purchased in advance are $39 and will be $45 if purchased after August 30. Tickets may also be purchased at the door, depending on availability.
