The Long Beach City Council on Tuesday awarded a contract for the repaving of Bixby Road between Atlantic and Orange avenues to Sulley-Miller Contracting Company, who will perform rehabilitation work that will include: replacing of damaged curbs, gutters, sidewalks, alley entrances and driveways; trimming and root-shaving trees; and repaving the street, according to 8th District Councilmember Al Austin.
Rehabilitation work expected to begin soon on Bixby Road between Atlantic and Orange aveunes will include street repaving.
Work on the project is expected to begin in less than a month.
Public Works Director Ara Maloyan, in response to a question from Austin, said his department will work to have the project completed before school starts in September, since the work area is adjacent to Hughes Middle and Longfellow Elementary schools, according to Jonathan Kraus, Austin’s chief of staff,
