With one day left to cast votes, only 17% of ballots in Long Beach have been returned, according to Political Data, Inc.

Political Data, Inc. is a technology company specializing in voter data by collecting geographical, political and demographic data about voters in the United States.

According to Political Data, Inc., there were 269,488 ballots mailed to eligible residents throughout Long Beach.

As of Nov. 7, only 46,027 ballots have been turned in.

Of the ballots that have been returned, 26,874 were filled out by democrats, 9,708 by republicans and 9,445 by independent voters. The groups with the highest ballot turn-in rates are white residents and those over 65 years of age.

For those willing to brave the autumnal rains to vote in person Tuesday, the 31 polling locations in Long Beach can be found online at longbeach.gov. If voters received a mail-in ballot but want to vote in person, the mail-in ballot must be relinquished at a voting center.

Signal Hill also has a voting center at the Signal Hill Community Center located at 1780 E Hill St.

To help keep voters from getting soggy on their way to the polls, Long Beach Transit and LA Metro will be offering free rides throughout the day.

If you are planning to vote by mail, it must be postmarked by Nov. 8 to be counted. Ballots  can be sent through the mail or dropped off at a ballot box or at a voting center.
