Real estate agents sing for charity in Idol homage

Agents at Keller Williams Realty Los Alamitos are capitalizing on the television show “American Idol” to raise money for KW Cares by hosting their own singing competition, entitled KW Idol, on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mr. B’s Restaurant and Sports Lounge.
Agents from Huntington Beach, Lakewood, Irvine, Long Beach, San Clemente, Mission Viejo and Los Alamitos will sing to raise money for their chosen charity. While each agent sings, “judges” will collect money from the audience and winners will be determined by the amount collected.
Everyone is welcome to sing, but they must designate a Keller Williams office to represent and pay a $5 entry fee.
“Since ‘American Idol’ is so popular, we figured what a great way to have some fun, raise money and do it in a family environment,” said Drake Cruz, KW Idol coordinator.
Three agents will take on the roles of Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell. “They will be making comments while collecting money,” said Cruz.
