SA Recycling has joined forces with the International City Bank Marathon to help lessen the impact on the environment and reduce the carbon footprint of the event. More than 100 staff will make up the SA Recycling “Green Team,” helping participants to recycle their water bottles and other recyclables. There will be recycle bins located in and around the Finish Line Festival.
“SA Recycling is pleased to be a part of such a historic event— 25 times in the making. We are committed to recycling the race material to green the race one-step at a time,” said SA Regional Manager Moises Figueroa.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Long Beach International City Bank Marathon and Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, Oct. 11. More than 20,000 participants are expected to participate in the Marathon, Half Marathon, Bike Tour, Run Forrest Run 5K and Kids One-Mile Fun Run. In a continuing tradition, the Wheelchair Division will include Push Rim and Hand Crank participants in the Full Marathon.
