Relief available for flood victims

The Los Angeles County Operational Area, in coordination with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and California Emergency Management Agency, has made a Local Assistance Center (LAC) available to all Long Beach residents impacted by the recent flooding and debris and mudflow through Saturday, February 27. The center will offer information on replacing lost records, filing insurance claims and applying for assistance.
SBA customer service representatives will also be on hand to issue SBA disaster loan applications, answer questions, and explain the application process. Disaster loans of up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Businesses of any size and private, non-profit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.
The LAC is open on Friday, February 26 from 9am to 7pm, and on Saturday, February 27 from 9am to 4pm. The LAC is located at the City of Long Beach Gas and Oil Department, 2400 East Spring Street.
