Listen to live music while supporting local youth bands at the San Gabriel Valley Teen/Tween Rock Showcase, happening this Sunday at Pike’s Bar and Restaurant.

Pike’s is owned by a member of music royalty in Chris Reece, former drummer of Fullerton punk group Social Distortion. Now, he’s playing host to the next generation of rock artists.

The showcase will feature three middle school age bands, Fallen Angels, Sister Sister, and The Sweet Unknown along with The Rosé Hooligans, which is made up of high schoolers. These bands have previously played gigs at east Los Angeles County venues in cities like Glendale, Monrovia, Montebello and Arcadia and are now looking to show their skills on the SoCal coast.

Concertgoers can expect to hear some original music plus a variety of covers across several genres, including rock n’ roll, (Led Zeppelin, the Beatles) pop punk (Green Day, Blink-182), and grunge (Alice in Chains, Hole).

The San Gabriel Valley Teen/Tween Rock Showcase will take place Sunday, July 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pike’s Bar and Restaurant (1836 E. Fourth St.). Admission is free and open to all ages.
