Ronald Nelson promoted to LBMA executive director

lbma-headshot.jpgThe Board of Directors of the Long Beach Museum of Art has appointed Ronald C. Nelson to the position of executive director. Nelson has served as interim executive director for the museum since Nov. 2006. He had previously served as the museum’s director of development.
Under his leadership during the last 15 months, the museum has achieved greater financial stability, embarked on new initiatives with local institutions of higher learning and local arts groups, and developed and mounted successful and innovative exhibitions.
Roberta Jenkins, president of the LBMA Board of Trustees said, “We have every confidence in Ron’s skills and abilities to move the museum toward a bright new future and are thrilled that he has accepted the position of executive director.”
