DaVita, a leading provider of kidney care services for those diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD), brought its fifth annual nationwide DaVita Kidney Awareness Run/Walk series to Long Beach’s Marina Green Park on Saturday, Nov. 13.
The Run/Walk is part of a 10-city series of 5K events benefiting The Kidney TRUST, a national, nonprofit organization with the mission to reduce the human and economic costs of CKD.
The Kidney TRUST provided screenings for rapid kidney disease to all participants at no charge. Family-friendly activities including games, face painting, hula-hoops, a bouncy house at the Kid Zone, music and refreshments were on site.
Notable visitors were:Â Congresswoman Laura Richardson, District 37; State Assembly Member Felipe Fuentes, District 39; Hermosa Beach Councilmember Jeff Duclos; and Black Barbershop Health Outreach Program Founder Dr. Bill Releford.
