For young adults newly graduated from high school, they say the sky is the limit, figuratively.
Long Beach Poly graduate Samantha Larson seems to be testing that saying, literally.
Larson was honored by Mayor Bob Foster Tuesday for becoming the youngest person to conquer the “seven summits,” and the youngest female American to climb Mount Everest.
She got to Mount Everest’s summit on May 17, completing the “seven summits,” the highest mountains on each of the seven continents.
Larson and her father, David, have been climbing together since she was 12. They plan to tackle the Carstensz Pyramid in New Guinea, Indonesia in August. It is considered the eighth of the summits at 16,023 feet.
