Author Scoot Larson will discuss his book The No News is Bad News Blues on Monday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m., in the Signal Hill Community Center as part of the Friend of Signal Hill Library’s quarterly Author Talk.
Larson’s mystery novel is set in his native San Pedro involving a local jazz scene and terrorist plots. His main character is jazz trumpeter Lars Lindstrom, who wakes up one morning to find a dead terrorist on his patio.
Larson wrote the Port of Los Angeles Anti-Terrorism Plan for the 1984 Olympics, and has published reviews of music, art and theater events.
