The City of Signal Hill is actively seeking poll workers for its general municipal election scheduled for Tuesday, March 7.
The City is especially looking for individuals who speak Spanish and Khmer to work the polls, according to City officials.
“Poll workers are essential to ensuring that elections are a success,” states a Signal Hill press release. “The City truly recognizes and appreciates the dedication and hard work each election clerk and inspector contributes on Election Day.”
The City will compensate each election inspector $150 and each clerk $125 for working on Election Day. In addition, each precinct board member will be compensated an additional $25 for attending a mandatory training class.
The polls will be open from 7am to 8pm on Election Day.
In order to serve as a precinct board member, a person must be a registered voter in California or a non-registered legal permanent resident.
