The Signal Hill Police Department (SHPD) and the Drug Enforcement Administration collected more than 300 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs during a drug-drop-off event on April 30, according to the SHPD.
Between 10am and 2pm, approximately 16 boxes of unwanted prescription drugs were collected, police said.
The SHPD has a drop-box located in its lobby for residents to safely discard unwanted prescription drugs.
The station is located at 2745 Walnut Ave.
