SHPD seeking help locating attempted-kidnapping suspect

According to police, at approximately 1pm on Tuesday, Sept. 27, a 16-year-old female was walking home from school. As she was walking in the area of E. 19th Street and Cherry Avenue, an Asian male, between 20 and 30 years old, driving a gray four-door sedan with paper plates, pulled alongside her. The suspect asked her for directions, and the victim continued to walk away, ignoring him.
The suspect then exited his car and approached the girl, reaching out to grab her by the arm. The victim immediately reacted and pushed the suspect away from her and fled toward home. The suspect fled southbound on Cherry Avenue.
