The Signal Hill Police Department (SHPD) traffic unit will conduct a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 8pm to 2am at an undisclosed location within the city limits.
Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment while checking drivers for proper licensing, according to the SHPD. When possible, specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving.
Funding for the checkpoint is provided to SHPD by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
