The Signal Hill Police Department (SHPD) Traffic Unit will conduct a DUI/driver license checkpoint on Tuesday, March 31 at an undisclosed location within the city limits between the hours of 8pm and 2:30am.
Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment while checking drivers for proper licensing, according to SHPD. When possible, specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving.
Funding for the checkpoint is provided by grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
