UPDATE: On the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 18, Los Angeles County announced residents who are 65 years old and older can now register for COVID-19 vaccination appointments at  VaccinateLACounty.com.

The City of Signal Hill which is under the jurisdiction of the L.A. County Department of Public Health (LACDPH) urges residents to continue to follow the LACDPH vaccine direction and updates.

In an official COVID-19 update the City of Signal Hill stated that they are currently working with the City of Long Beach and L.A. County to potentially allow for Signal Hill residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine under the Long Beach Department of Health & Human Services (LBDHHS) distribution plan. This arrangement is still a work-in-progress and is not official.

In L.A. County vaccine distribution is still in early phases and it is not yet available to non-healthcare workers.

The City of Signal Hill is also urging its residents to not make appointments with Long Beach or contact LBDHHS for inquiries.

“Currently, the timeline is indefinite, and we do not want eligible residents to miss opportunities to make vaccine appointments with L.A. County Public Health or with their doctor,” stated the City in an email update.

To learn when residents are eligible to be vaccinated they can sign up for e-mail updates from the L.A. County Department of Public Health and/or visit VaccinateLACounty.com. Other ways to learn more:

  • Consult your doctor or primary health care provider to find out how and when you may be able to receive a vaccine.
  • If you work in a high-risk / essential business sector, you can speak to your employer about potential vaccination plans.
  • Attend the LACDPH Virtual Vaccine Town Hall, tonight at 6 p.m. (see below)

The City is also warning residents of scams, “If anyone offers you the vaccine in exchange for payment, or offers you a chance to “jump the line”, this is a scam.”
