The City of Signal Hill is currently accepting applications for the role of interim police chief.

Signal Hill’s last interim police chief, Carl Charles, served his last day on Feb. 3.

According to City Manager Carlo Tomaino, applicants for the interim police chief position will be vetted by recruitment firm Bob Hall & Associates, before applications are reviewed by the city.

Tomaino said the city will continue to accept applications until the position is filled.

It is currently unknown when a new interim police chief will start working. Tomaino said he hopes to bring a work contract for a new chief to the Signal Hill City Council by the end of February.

According to the job posting on the City of Signal Hill’s website, the position pays between $177,147.17 and $232,432.41 annually.
