Slideshow: Preview of the Aquarium of the Pacific's newest expansion

The Signal Tribune was invited to a preview of the $53M expansion to the Aquarium of the Pacific on Thursday, May 16.
The first major addition to the Aquarium since its opening in 1998, the Pacific Visions Wing is set to open to the public Friday, May 24. The 29,000-square-foot, two-story building will introduce a digital art gallery, immersive theaters and interactive exhibitions with a focus on bringing awareness to climate change.
One of the main showcases of the event was the presentation of the Honda Pacific Visions Theater: a two-story digital theatre with over 300 seats; a 32-foot-tall, 130-foot-long projection wall; and mist, wind and sound effects for an immersive experience.
