It will “snow” in Bixby Knolls thanks to the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association. The BKBIA will host the annual family festival this Sunday, Dec 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue between Roosevelt Road and San Antonio Drive.
This day of free fun will be full of activities for the kids and is sure to be a hit for the entire family. The activities include pony rides, a rock-climbing wall, train rides, a giant slide, a visit from Santa Claus and, of course, 30 tons of manmade snow.
Local artisans showcasing unique gift items will greet visitors as they walk along the street. Booths from community organizations and businesses will also line the walkway to provide information to residents.
In addition to the outdoor shopping, the air will be full of aromas from a variety of regional food vendors and several snack stops as well as local restaurants.
Entertainment is planned throughout the day including live bands, musicians and dance groups on several stages. Santa Claus, who arrives each year on a Long Beach Fire Department truck, will be there from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for pictures and listening to the children’s wishes.
Admission to Snow in Bixby Knolls is free, as is parking. For more information call the BIA office at (562) 595-0081.
