St. Mary to host ‘Mad Hatter’ tea party for Mother’s Day

In recognition of Mother’s Day, adult mothers and daughters are invited to the St. Mary Medical Center Senior Health Program’s Annual Mother & Daughter “Mad Hatter” Tea on Thursday, May 6 and in the Parr Health Enhancement Center, 1055 Linden Ave., on the St. Mary campus. Doors open at 3:15pm for the free event.
The Long Beach Japanese Cultural Center will perform a traditional tea ceremony. Guests are encouraged to wear their best, prettiest, funniest or biggest spring bonnet and compete in the fun-filled hat contest.
A meal will be served and there were be other activities, including karaoke with “oldies but goodies” tunes. All participants will be eligible for the door-prize drawing. There is limited seating, and reservations are required.
