The Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) will hold its 23rd annual Dine on Pine event on Monday, June 15 beginning at 5:15pm. The purpose of the event is to raise money for scholarships and the organization’s education program, as well as to educate the community about the services the CCLB provides.
Dine on Pine is a progressive dinner held on Pine Avenue in downtown Long Beach beginning at The Federal Bar. The four-course dinner continues at George’s Greek Café and L’Opera with the final dessert entrée, presentation and opportunity drawings concluding at The Federal Bar. Each year at Dine on Pine, the CCLB also recognizes a group or individual for outstanding public service. This year, Los Angeles County 4th District Supervisor Don Knabe and his staff will be honored with the Founder’s Award.
“Dine on Pine gives us the opportunity to showcase the CCLB and provide information on the valuable resource we are to the greater Long Beach community,” said Mike Bassett, executive director/CEO of the CCLB. “The guests are able to enjoy a delightful four-course meal, network with peers and have an exceptional time, all while supporting the work we do by helping to provide scholarships and education opportunities to well deserved youth.”
Dine on Pine is the CCLB’s largest fundraiser and benefits its mission to raise self-esteem, develop basic work skills, promote teamwork and enhance work ethics and education for greater Long Beach area at-risk youth through a combination of work, conservation and education programs. The program is consistently working on new projects and job sites to challenge the youth and provide valuable education and workforce training. The CCLB has served the greater Long Beach area for 28 years.
The evening will conclude with a raffle and silent auction. Prizes include JetBlue tickets, a private wine tasting for 20 at The Sky Room, restaurant and amusement parks tickets and a children’s birthday party at a Long Beach fire station.
The event is open to the public, and tickets are available for $125 each. To purchase tickets over the phone, via email or mail, contact Tara Cannon at (562) 208-5059 or tcannon@cclb-corps.org.
