Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) detectives arrested an individual in connection with a July 4th murder on July 10, and charges have been filed, according to officials.
Norman Matthew Perdon, 24, was identified and arrested last Friday in the 1400 block of Walnut Avenue as a potential suspect in the murder of 38-year-old Allen Estes of Long Beach.
Perdon and the victim were former roommates, and it is believed the motive for the murder is related to an ongoing dispute, according to officials.
On July 4 at approximately 5:27am, LBPD officers responded to Anaheim Street and Dawson Avenue in regard to an unresponsive subject who sustained injuries from being stabbed, and he was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives presented the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, who filed murder and weapons charges against Perdon. He is currently being held at the Long Beach Jail on $1,020,000 bail.
