On Sunday, March 16, the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association, along with Long Beach councilwoman Rae Gabelich, hosted a tea party to benefit the Fairfield Family YMCA’s “Send Kids to Camp Program” at Elise’s Tea Room in Bixby Knolls. The 50 guests, donning hats and gloves, were treated to a menu of salad, scones, finger sandwiches and a teapot cake.
World-class entertainment included performances by: Naomi Star and her daughter, Sophia Wackerman, who perform at Gypsy Theater inside the tea room; Chia-En Chen, concert pianist; and 7-year-old Tess Regan Hunter, who performed traditional Irish dances for the crowd.
Both councilwoman Gabelich and 7th district councilwoman Tonia Reyes Uranga were in attendance and spent the afternoon chatting with residents in the tea room.
