Spring break is just around the corner for Long Beach students and their families. Local kids will have an entire week from April 10 to 14 free to relax and explore new things. For parents interested in enrolling their child in a camp over the break, here are 10 local day camps specializing in tennis, watersports, skateboarding and more.
Kids Spring Break Tennis Camp: April 10 – April 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. This tennis camp is open to kids of all skill-levels between the ages of 5 and 18 years old. Students will become better tennis players and learn how to be good sportsmen. This camp is organized by Valter Paiva Tennis Academy (1040 Park Ave.). Camp Komaroff: April 10 – April 14, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Alpert Jewish Community Center (3801 E Willow St.) will be holding a spring break camp for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Kids will enjoy swimming, sports, science experiences, arts & crafts and more. Children ages 7 and older will be able to go on outings to the Natural History Museum, Whaley Park and Mother’s Beach. Spring Fun Days: April 10 – April 14, from noon to 5 p.m. The City of Long Beach will be holding a program for youth in 22 different public parks during spring break. Attendees between the ages of 5 and 12 years old will be able to do recreational activities together. Children will be free to come and go at their own discretion. Tennis Fundamentals Camp: April 10 – April 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. The Southern California Tennis Academy will be holding a camp over Spring Break at El Dorado Park Tennis Center (2800 N Studebaker Rd.). Aqualand School Break Waterman Bay Camp: April 10 – April 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. This camp in Alamitos Bay (5489 East Ocean Blvd.) introduces children between the ages of 6 and 14 to a variety of fun water sports while teaching them water safety. Kids will be able to enjoy swimming, paddling, stand-up paddling, canoeing, kayaking, Olympic handball, dodgeball, arts & crafts, surfing, boogie boarding and more. Spring Aquatics Camp: April 10 – April 14, from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Boys Club of America will be holding a water-based camp for boys and girls from the second to fifth grades at the Long Beach Sea Base Aquatics Center (5875 Appian Way). Kids will be able to enjoy sailing, kayaking, speedboat rides and whale watching. Participation costs $280 for the week. Spring Day Camps: April 10 – April 14, times TBA. The City of Signal Hill will be holding a spring break camp for kids at the Signal Hill Youth Center (1780 E Hill St.). Registration for the week costs $75 for Signal Hill residents and $85 for residents of other cities. Registration must be made in-person at the Signal Hill Youth Center. Spring Break Camp: April 11 – April 14, from 11:20 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. on April 11, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 12 and April 13, and from noon to 4:00 p.m. on April 14. The kids’ indoor recreation site, My Gym (3287 Industry Dr.), will be holding a spring break camp for kids between the ages 3 years and 4 months to 13 years old. Kids will be able to participate in games, gymnastics, arts and crafts and more. Participation costs $59 per day for one to two days, and $54 per day for those who attend three or more days. Skate Camp: April 10 to April 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Kids between the ages of 5 and 13 years old will be able to make new friends and improve their skateboarding skills during this camp at St Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran (5633 E Wardlow Rd.). Virtual Sing-a-long: April 10 to April 14, from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. During these virtual sing-a-longs hosted by Jewel Box Children’s Theater, kids ages 6 and up will practice improv, theater games, stretching, movement and singing.
