The Shoreline Frontrunners of Long Beach, an LGBTQ+ oriented running and walking club, are set to host its 34th annual Pride Run on Sunday, May 17. The run will take place at Ocean Boulevard and Junipero Avenue near Bixby Park.
Serving as a cherished Long Beach tradition, Pride Sunday is day two of a festival chock-full of color and celebrations. The Pride Run kicks off the day’s activities right before the Long Beach Pride Parade marches through the streets.
The Pride Run is divided into two courses, a 5K and a 10K. Both courses pass the Rainbow Lifeguard Tower, and the view expands west towards the Queen Mary during the 10K.

The 5K is a perfect distance for those who want to run a shorter distance or walk and enjoy the scenery. The extended 10K route is exclusively for runners due to necessary adherence to the 9:30 a.m. race completion schedule. Both races start at 8:00 a.m.
This year’s race also introduces the new flat finish along Ocean Boulevard.
Gender inclusivity is emphasized through the Pride Run’s non-binary division to guarantee that all runners can compete comfortably without restrictions.
In addition to the main race, little ones can participate in the Pride sKIDaddle, a 200-foot dash that takes place before the race at 7:45 a.m. Young runners can color their race bibs and later receive a finisher medal. Kids participate for free with a registered adult.
Same-day registration and bib pickup for the Pride Run will take place Sunday, May 17 at 6:30 a.m. Free bike parking is allowed for participants, but there will be no event parking. For reservations and additional race information, visit the SFRLB website.
