Long Beach Board of Education District 2 candidate Ricardo Linarez issued an email Thursday announcing that he has secured the endorsements of Assemblymembers Warren T. Furutani and Isadore Hall
“Ricardo Linarez will be a strong advocate for our community to ensure that Long Beach schools continue to provide our students with an excellent education,” said Furutani. “I am proud to endorse him.”
“I am proud to receive the endorsement of Warren Furutani and Isadore Hall,” Linarez said. “Warren’s strong leadership on education, from Los Angeles Board of Education to Sacramento, has been an inspiration. With their support, I will advocate for Long Beach to receive its fair share from Sacramento.”
The Long Beach Police Officers Association (LBPOA) announced in an email Jan. 24 that the Long Beach Firefighters Association and the LBPOA are endorsing incumbent Patrick O’Donnell for the 4th district Long Beach Council seat.
“Patrick O’Donnell is the candidate firefighters trust to give us the tools and support we need to keep Long Beach safe,” said Rex Pritchard, president of the Long Beach Firefighters Association. “He makes the tough decisions to keep our city’s budget balanced while protecting vital services like public safety. We don’t just need Patrick O’Donnell on the council— we need more leaders like Patrick O’Donnell.”
Long Beach Police Officers Association President Steve James said O’Donnell has the vision and the backbone to keep the city’s finances in order without sacrificing the safety of our neighborhoods. “Even in tough times, Patrick brought our city together to improve our community,” James said. “We need his leadership on the council.”
The Long Beach Firefighters Association and the Long Beach Police Officers Association have also endorsed Al Austin for the 8th District Council seat, according to an email sent by the LBPOA.
“Al Austin has the right ideas and skills to keep Long Beach safe,” said Rex Pritchard, president of the Long Beach Firefighters Association. “We need leaders like him working for our city and neighborhoods on the Council.”
“Al Austin is the candidate Long Beach Police Officers trust to help protect our neighborhoods,” said Steve James, president of the Long Beach Police Officers Association. “Al Austin understands that safe neighborhoods are better neighborhoods, and he has the backbone to make the tough decisions to keep our city on track.”
Former Long Beach Mayor Beverly O’Neill has announced her endorsement of Lillian Kawasaki to represent Long Beach City Council’s 8th district. O’Neill said that when she “appointed Lillian to the Long Beach Board of Water Commissioners, there was no doubt that Lillian had the skills, background, and dedication to fulfill the demands of the job. The same is true today.”
“I am very honored to have Mayor O’Neill’s endorsement. She served as a three term-mayor and continues her dedicated service to the Long Beach community,” Kawasaki said. “Like Mayor O’Neill, I look forward to bringing the varied constituencies together to build a stronger and more vibrant city.”
