Whether you want to start the month off practicing wellness, getting involved in the community or taking up a new skill, Long Beach and Signal Hill have opportunities for all.

A relaxing itinerary begins with a nature walk through parts of Los Cerritos Wetlands Saturday morning, followed by a low-cost breathwork and sound bath experience at Compound Sunday, a knitting and sewing workshop Tuesday morning at Lincoln Park and yoga at Harte Neighborhood Library Tuesday night.

More lively community events include an art supply swap at Good Time Friday, an architecture-focused walking tour Saturday, a Palestine-centric storytime Sunday morning, a Valentine’s Day card workshop Sunday afternoon and the Hillbrook Park grand opening in Signal Hill Tuesday morning.

Community meetings this week include a youth budget meeting Saturday afternoon at Houghton Park, a 2026 Long Beach budget meeting Monday night at Cornerstone Church and an immigration rights workshop hosted by ÓRALE Wednesday night at the Community Resource Center.

One of the best parts of the Mid-City Studio Tour is seeing the various tools used by Long Beach’s local artists, such as the used paint brushes and paint-smattered containers in Judy Chan’s gallery. (Samantha Diaz | Signal Tribune)
