Picnic for the Planet: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited to a community Earth Month celebration at Colorado Lagoon (5059 E. Colorado St.). Librarian Day Celebration: 5 p.m. In celebration of National Librarian Day, the Long Beach Library Foundation is hosting a screening of “The Librarians,” a documentary that highlights the essential role librarians play defending the First Amendment, at the Art Theatre of Long Beach (2025 E. Fourth St.). Tickets are $25 and can be purchased on the foundation’s website. All proceeds go to Long Beach libraries.

Community Night at the Museum: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. For Earth Month, the Kleefeld Museum at CSULB (1250 Bellflower Blvd.) is doing collages using a blank map of Earth and cutouts from recycled materials. Every Thursday, residents are offered a free unguided art activity from 4 to 7 p.m, and LOUD HOUR from 4 to 5 p.m. Tambourines, kazoos and earplugs are provided to help you get loud in the galleries. This event is free and open to the public, no RSVP required.
