This week is rife with ways to help the Long Beach community through fundraisers and reopenings, as well as swaps and markets to shop local.
Support local this weekend with a button-making fundraiser for ÓRALE as part of Fourth Street’s Fourth Fridays, a fundraiser party for a pottery studio Saturday featuring DJs, food, drinks, tattoos and vendors, or a grand reopening dance, drink and food party for Sala Coffee and Wine to celebrate their return after a car crashed into the shop.
Accessible art has a spotlight this week, with a baroque classical concert Saturday afternoon, a short film open mic-style screening at PLACE Saturday night, a drawing session at the Long Beach Museum of Art Sunday afternoon, a print-making and drawing club at PLACE Monday and Wednesday respectively and Good Time’s inaugural open mic night Thursday.
Those in need of a closet refresh or simply want to scratch the shopping itch can attend a clothing swap at Trademark Brewing or a record swap at Alex’s Bar both on Saturday. Learn new things at a pilates and dance skate session Sunday morning, a book club with Care Culture Collaborative Monday night, a senior caregiving workshop Tuesday afternoon, or workshops on childbirth options and mental health both Thursday.
