With several of the city’s most notable events back for another round, plus lots of other fun things happening throughout the week, Long Beach residents will have their hands full with deciding what to check out.
On Friday evening, St. Joseph Parish will host the first night of its three-day carnival and all are invited to enjoy a petting zoo, and a host of other activities at the Long Beach County Fair and Blue Ribbon Urban Agricultural Contest.
Sunday marks the return of the annual Cambodia Town Parade and Cultural Festival, with festivities beginning at 9 a.m. at MacArthur Park. Residents can also spend their weekend exploring farmers market finds at Roxanne’s Gin & Juice Party Sunday afternoon, or further celebrating Cambodian culture at the free Long Beach Sankranta, happening all-day Saturday at Long Beach City College.
Community members are invited to learn how to use social media to find employment at the Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network Adult Career Services Center Monday afternoon and take part in a hands-on amigurumi craft workshop Thursday evening at Mark Twain Neighborhood Library. To cap off the week, the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach will kick off with Thunder Thursday at The Pike, complete with car displays, live music, driver meet-and-greets and more from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Church Carnival: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. St. Joseph’s Parish (200 E. Willow St.) invites the community to carnival rides, food and drinks during this three-day event. Unlimited ride wristbands can be purchased for $40 on thefuncarnival.com.
LB County Fair & Blue Ribbon Urban Ag Contest: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Long Beach County Fair returns to the EXPO Arts Center (4321 Atlantic Ave.), celebrating local food, farming and community. Enjoy the Blue Ribbon Urban Ag Contest, a petting zoo, photo exhibits, art activities and mocktails by The Dew Drop Mobile Bar. Farmer K Homestead will sell homemade dried fruits. Free admission.

Nature Walk: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Check out interesting wildlife, including egrets and herons, at Los Cerritos Wetlands. You will spend time at Marketplace Marsh, currently off-limits to the public, and learn about the innovations and restoration of these long-degraded wetland areas. The walk is for ages seven and up. Meet at the corner of PHC and 1st Street in Seal Beach. Free.
Long Beach Sankranta: 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Cambodian Cultural Center and Long Beach City College is hosting a Cambodian new year celebration at 1305 E. Pacific Coast Highway, featuring a morning Buddhist ceremony from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., cultural celebration and showcase from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a live music dance party from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Parking along Walnut Street and PCH is $15. The event is free.
Low-Cost Pet Vaccine Clinic: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pet owners can bring their furry family members to this clinic hosted by the city of Signal Hill and Community Animal Medicine Project to receive rabies and flu shots, worm treatment, microchipping services and more. This clinic will take place in the Signal Hill Civic Center parking lot (2175 Cherry Ave.). Prices will vary.
Free Groceries: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Residents can receive free groceries at Grace Memorial Baptist Church (1021 E. 19th St.). No advanced registration is required. Free.
Beach Clean-up: 9 a.m. This Bayshore beach clean-up and beautification project invites residents to keep the shoreline beautiful and clean. Attendees can enjoy free coffee and breakfast cookies. Brooms, shovels, rakes, trash bags and gloves will be provided. The clean-up will begin at 54th Place and Ocean Blvd. Free.
Spring Plant Sale: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Find high-quality plants not usually found in stores at Zaferia Junction Community Garden’s (3709 E. 10th St.)two-day plant sale. These exclusive plants come from Long Beach Organic’s various gardens throughout the city, and all proceeds will go towards keeping community gardens alive and feeding those in need through partnerships in the city. Prices vary.
Downtown Art + Design Walk: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The entire downtown Long Beach area will be activated with 50+ showcases of art, design, music and culture. Residents can walk the streets and enjoy immersive art installations, live music, vendor pop-ups and food and drink specials. Afternoon on the Farm: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Residents can enjoy the golden hour at the Grow2Zero farm (2851 Santa Fe Ave.) with neighbors, touring the farm and learning about Grow2Zero’s work educating future farmers and feeding the community through sustainable practices. Marsy Pies will be serving up wood-fired pizzas, and The Dew Drop Mobile Bar will be crafting calamansi shrub mocktails. Gino Martinez will be creating ambiance with sounds and vibrations. Cambodia Town Parade and Cultural Festival: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The public is invited to celebrate Cambodian and American culture at the 17th annual parade and cultural festival, which brings thousands of visitors and attendees each year. The parade will begin at MacArthur Park (1321 E. Anaheim St.), take place along Anaheim Street and end at Long Beach City College (1305 E. Pacific Coast Highway). Free.
LB Beekeepers Meeting: 10:00 a.m. to noon. Long Beach Beekeepers will hold their monthly meeting at EDCO Recycling & Transfer (2755 California Ave., second floor conference room). Open to all experience levels, the meeting includes a guest speaker, a Honey of the Month tasting and an opportunity drawing. Free.
Album Release Party: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Online music school Jelly of the Month, which teaches kids a variety of instruments and musical talents, is hosting this Music 101 album release party at Gaslamp (6251 Pacific Coast Highway), featuring nearly a dozen artists, a magic show and brunch. Tickets are $10 for kids 12 and under, and $15 for the general public.
Black Women are Divine: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Black women are invited to this event that will honor, celebrate and support them with healing services, performances, food and music at the Xela Institute of Art (2176 Pacific Ave.). Free, but RSVP is encouraged at bit.ly/blmlbcmeeting.com.
Gin & Juice Party: Noon to 4 p.m. Enjoy this open air celebration, a mix between a block party and a boutique tasting room, at Roxanne’s (1115 E. Wardlow Road). A variety of spirits will be mixed in exciting ways, while vinyl DJs and curated vendors create a family-friendly atmosphere. Free Family Film: 2 p.m. The Art Theatre of Long Beach (2025 E. Fourth St.) is hosting this free screening of the 2025 animated film “Dog Man,” followed by a conversation with director Peter Hastings. Although the screening is free, donations are encouraged, and will go to Luther Burbank Elementary School. An RSVP does not guarantee admission, as seats will go at a first-come, first-served basis. AI for Beginners Workshop: 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Bay Shore Neighborhood Library (195 Bay Shore Ave.) will host a hands-on workshop teaching adults 45 and older how to use AI for scheduling, writing emails, business tasks and more. Registration is recommended but not required. Free admission.

Toddler Storytime: 11:30 a.m. Parents and caregivers of toddlers from 1 to 3 years old are invited to bring their kids to Harte Neighborhood Library (1595 W. Willow St.) to enjoy stories, songs and more. Free.
Food Waste Prevention Week: 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visit the Long Beach Recycles table at Bixby Park Farmers Market (130 Cherry Ave.) to learn tips on reducing food waste and saving money. Coffee with a Cop: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The public is invited to meet and have coffee with their local police officers from the South Division at 440 Pine Ave. Free to attend.
Community Empowerment Resource Fair: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This resource fair will provide residents with job opportunities, resources and various services. The event takes place at Long Beach City College (1305 E. Pacific Coast Highway) and is open to students, youth, community residents, justice-impacted individuals and disabled people. Free.
Artist of the Month: Katsushika Hokusai: 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Young artists aged 7 to 12 are invited to the Los Altos Neighborhood Library (5614 Britton Drive) for a creative workshop inspired by the iconic “The Big Wave off Kanagawa” by Katsushika Hokusai. No registration required, but spots are limited. Free.
Know Your Rights Meeting: 6:30 p.m. Long Beach Tenants Union and the Party for Socialism and Liberation is teaming up to teach residents how to fight against illegal deportations and evictions, at local business Plantiitas (2011 E. Fourth St.). Free.

Long Beach Motorsports Walk of Fame Ceremony: 11 a.m. to noon. The public is invited to this annual event at the Long Beach Motorsports Walk of Fame (100 S. Pine Ave.), honoring key figures in auto racing. This year’s inductees include six-time champion Scott Dixon, Grand Prix Association of Long Beach President Jim Michaelian and former Long Beach Mayor Beverly O’Neill. Attendees can meet the honorees and request autographs. Free admission.
Cool Crafts Roundup: 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to Rancho Los Alamitos (6400 E. Bixby Hill Road) for an afternoon of storytelling and hands-on crafts inspired by the Rancho’s natural surroundings.
