With election season almost behind us (votes are still being counted, which could take a few weeks), and the holidays looming ahead, it’s a perfect time to celebrate community and all the things that make Long Beach, Long Beach. Inside this week’s edition of around town, you will find chances to donate, honor various cultures and learn new hobbies.

There are also a handful of Veterans Day events throughout the city, which will begin Friday morning.
Saturday offers more opportunities to surround yourself with nature, either at the two-year anniversary for Foliage plant shop or at a cannabis cultivation workshop hosted by Highline Nursery.
