As summer comes to a close, residents are invited to make the most of long summer days with a final concert in the park at El Dorado West Friday evening. The concert will end just in time for attendees to head over to Wardlow Park for a family-friendly movie after dark.
Foodies can savor a locally grown brunch at a North Long Beach farm on Sunday, or sample vegan eats at a brewery on Monday.
Parents of babies and young children can bring them to a variety of different story times throughout the week, including a bilingual storytime at the Billie Jean King Main Library and a storytime highlighting diverse authors at Rancho Los Cerritos.
Those looking to stay civically engaged can learn about surveillance technology in Long Beach, as well as planned changes coming to Pine Avenue all without leaving their homes.

Free Summer End Concert: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The City of Long Beach will be holding a concert at El Dorado Park West (2700 Studebaker Rd.), featuring Journey cover band Journey USA, who will be playing hits such as “Don’t Stop Believing.” Free.
Movie in the Park: 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The public is invited to an outdoor screening of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” at Wardlow Park (3457 Stanbridge Ave.). Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket and picnic food. The movie will begin at dusk. Free.

Cuentos y Cantos Bilingual Storytime: 11 a.m. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to bring young children to read, talk, sing and play in English and Spanish at the Billie Jean King Main Library (200 W. Broadway). Free.
Library Anniversary: Noon to 4 p.m. The public is invited to celebrate the Brewitt Neighborhood Library’s 75th birthday (4036 E Anaheim St.). The celebration will include a 75 cent book sale, face painting, music and more. Free.
Business Anniversary: 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Local business Semillitas Learning Community will be celebrating its 10-year anniversary. The celebration will take place at its Bixby Knolls location (3768 Long Beach Blvd.). The event will include music, dancing, vendors and more. Free to attend.
Alt Rhythms: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Residents are invited to enjoy Latin and Caribbean music at the Museum of Latin American Art (628 Alamitos Ave.). There will be food, beer and paletas available for purchase. Tickets can be purchased for $30 at the door.

Clean Streets: 8 a.m. Volunteers are needed to help clean the Los Cerritos neighborhood. Bags, trash pickers and reusable gloves will be provided. Volunteers should meet at Los Cerritos Park (3750 Del Mar Ave.) by the bathrooms. Free.
Community Caretaking Day: 10 a.m. The public is invited to help care for and learn about the sacred site Puvungna. Volunteers are asked to meet in the CSULB G2 parking lot (1250 Bellflower Blvd.). Volunteers are encouraged to bring chairs, water, a pot-luck style dish, gloves, rakes, flat shovels and weed whackers. Free.
Happy Sundays: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. The 7th annual grassroots music festival will offer over 30 local musical artist performances at six locations around Long Beach. The Big Red Bus can take attendees to the different stops, where they can enjoy live music, freebies and giveaways. Free to attend.
Sunday Brunch: 1 p.m. This intimate brunch at Organic Harvest Gardens (6751 Atlantic Ave.) will feature a multi-course meal made with organic, locally grown ingredients. Tickets can be purchased for $95 per person on the site Brown Paper Tickets.

Meatless Mondays: 4 p.m. A variety of vegan food vendors will be selling their dishes at Trademark Brewing (233 East Anaheim St.). Free to enter.
LB Anti-Surveillance Community Teach-In: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to this online discussion about the use of surveillance technology in Long Beach. MLK Park Update: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to the last of the Martin Luther King Jr. Park planning events at the park’s community center (1950 Lemon Ave.). Councilmember Suely Saro and Mayor Rex Richardson will be present to share updates with the community and take suggestions. Free.
Trivia Night: 7 p.m. Those 21 and older are invited to the Auld Dubliner (71 S Pine Ave.) to participate in a weekly trivia competition hosted by America’s Pub Quiz. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Free to attend.
Chess & Game Night: 7 p.m. Those 21 and over are invited to play chess and other board games together while enjoying beer at Trademark Brewing (233 E Anaheim St.). Participants can bring their own board or borrow one there. Those who play will get their first beer for $5.

Help for the Unhoused: 9 a.m. to noon. The City’s Mobile Access Center will be offering services to people experiencing homelessness at the Billie Jean King Main Library (200 W. Broadway). A medical clinic will be offering health care and showers will be available for use. Free.
Baby & Toddler Storytime: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Babies and their caregivers are invited to Signal Hill Public Library (1800 E. Hill St.) to enjoy stories and playtime. Free.
