Three Long Beach streets in the Lincoln and MacArthur Park neighborhoods will undergo repaving and repairs that may hinder parking and traffic in certain areas until Friday, Sept. 2.

Construction will take place in the following areas:

  • 11th Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue to Gardenia Avenue
  • Hoffman Avenue from 10th Street to 11th Street
  • Peterson Avenue from Anaheim Street to 15th Street

The goals of the projects are to pave, strip, repair or replace damaged curbs and gutters, repair or replace damaged sidewalks, repair or replace damaged driveway aprons and alley entrances and install access ramps.

Construction will take place Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The City said in a statement that efforts will be made to preserve as much parking as possible, but “no parking” signs will be posted in appropriate areas.

Residents’ trash and recycling will still be picked up on the usual schedule.

The construction will be completed by the City’s contractor All American Asphalt. The construction inspector Daniel Falcon will be available at 562-577-7588 to speak to residents who need special accommodations or have construction-related questions.
