The show will explore the many aspects of trees, and art work will include realistic as well as abstract works that evoke a feeling of the mystery and wonder of trees and the forest.
This year the gallery has chosen the El Dorado Nature Center as its guest beneficiary.
“The Nature Center strives to increase awareness of our natural world, including the incredible habitat value of trees, through community partnerships such as this one,” said Erin Kellogg, naturalist at El Dorado Nature Center. “We thank Greenly Art Space for the opportunity to participate in this great event.”
Over 60 artists will be showing in the exhibit.
“This exhibit gives us a chance to show our appreciation,” said artist Marka Burns. “Every day I’m aware of how, without trees, our landscape would be quite desolate and void of the beauty we often take for granted.”
Greenly Art Space founder Kimberly Hocking said she is thankful for the continued support.
“We believe that a community is encouraged and inspired by its local artists,” she said. “They are a treasure worth celebrating, and each year we are privileged to continue our mission to build community through art because of the essential contributions by our patrons.”
The opening reception, which will take place Saturday, April 16 from 6pm to 9pm, will include the art show, appetizers, beer/wine and live music by the Ho Chan Ensemble. Greenly Art Space is located at 2698 Junipero Ave. #113 in Signal Hill. The $10 admission raises funds to support the nonprofit gallery and El Dorado Nature Center. Additionally, South Bay Wildlife Rehab will be providing a live bird exhibit to support the cause.
