Two Long Beach libraries will extend service days to include Mondays beginning in April, the City of Long Beach announced Wednesday morning.

Burnett Library at 560 E Hill St. and El Dorado Library at 2900 Studebaker Road will join the recent expansion of Long Beach Public Library service hours. Five other libraries have begun offering services on Mondays in the past year.

“Over the past year, we have expanded to six-day service at many of our neighborhood libraries across Long Beach,” said Mayor Rex Richardson in a public statement. “By providing more accessible hours, we are offering residents the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve more. We are committed to enhancing our City services to best meet the needs of our community.”

This expansion of service is made possible through structural and one-time enhancements to Library Services as approved in the City’s Adopted Fiscal Year 2023 Budget by the City Council.

The extended service hours at Burnett and El Dorado Neighborhood Libraries will be as follows:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays: noon to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: noon to 6 p.m.
  • Fridays and Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
