Veterans and service members can meet with employers and receive job assistance at Long Beach’s job fair on April 17.
The Long Beach health department’s Office of Veterans Support and Economic Development Department are joining forces to help veterans and current service members transition to a financially independent lifestyle. The job fair will offer opportunities to network, meet public and private sector employers, receive resume help and interview on the spot.
The Veteran and Service Member Job Fair will also feature resources for mental health, health care, housing and homelessness prevention, including a Veterans Administration home loan workshop. Participating employers include the Long Beach Police Department, Long Beach Fire Department, Human Resources Department, Civil Service Department and Allied Universal.
While the job fair will focus on resources for veterans and transitioning service members, this free event is open to the public. Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP online.

The Veteran and Service Member Job Fair event will take place on Thursday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network Adult Career Services Center (4811 Airport Plaza Drive).
