WomenShelter of LB to host free Family Fun Day

WomenShelter of Long Beach (WSLB), a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating domestic violence, will host its third annual community health and outreach event, Family Fun Day, at The Expo Arts Center, 4321 Atlantic Ave., on Saturday, June 10 from 10am to 2pm.
This event, sponsored in part by 8th District Long Beach Councilmember Al Austin, is open to the public, with free admission and free parking offered. The event will be geared toward families and children, but on a larger scale. Guests will be introduced to Long Beach service providers. Community partners will provide free health services, screenings, testing, enrollments, education, tutorials, assessments, food and more.
This year’s event partners include the following: BARK Therapy Dogs, Cambodian Association of America, CSULB’s Center for Latino Community Health, Evaluation, and Leadership Training, CSULB’s Community Clinic, For The Child, Long Beach Health and Human Services Department, Massage Envy, Orange County Credit Union, Pedego Electric Bikes, People’s Community Clinic, Teak Catering, The Children’s Clinic, Static Salon, YWCA and the Water Replenishment District of Southern California.
“I am thrilled that WSLB is able to share this incredible event with our neighbors and friends,” said WSLB Executive Director Mary Ellen Mitchell.” We are committed to helping everyone create safer, healthier families. This is one of the many ways that we provide Long Beach with support and services.”
