Signal Hill Library is reaching out to all avid readers as it kicks off its first ever Library Book Club Friday, Feb. 1. The monthly club will take place the first Friday of every month at 11:30 a.m. and focus on mystery films and the books that the movie is based on.
A film and book discussion group, participants of the Library Book Club will initially watch the short film, “Mysterious California: Four Authors,” highlighting the works of Nina Revoyr, Laurie King, Kirk Russell and Nadia Gordon.
After the film, guests will receive books written by the authors to take home and read for the next meeting. The first book to be discussed will be Laurie King’s The Art of Detection.
Though the Signal Hill Library has reading programs for children, this is the first reading group for adults.
